The final signing of the 2021 class is one familiar to Otters fans and is looking to lead the Otters attack once again. During his first season in Johnson City, Segovia set numerous offensive records, many of which he still holds today. Following that summer, he transferred to Florida Tech where he has continued his high goal-scoring marks. The Otters begin their preseason today in Boone, North Carolina but return to Johnson City this Sunday to play their first-match in TVA Credit Union Ballpark. The Otters final group of signings brings varying levels of experience from a variety of levels of college soccer in the United States. Able to contribute on every level of the Otters formation, the five signings make up two Division I players, two from the NAIA, and one boasting extensive collegiate and professional experience. The Otters are set to take the field tomorrow for their first of two exhibitions against Appalachian FC, a new expansion side in the NPSL based in Boone, North Carolina. The first match will take place in Boone, with the return match being played this Sunday…


After filling out the roster with signings from Division II the last two days, the Otters have turned to the Big South Conference and their many member schools in the region. Three of players return after being original 2020 commits, and the other three come from Gardner-Webb University. The Otters will play their first-ever match in TVA Credit Union Ballpark THIS SUNDAY at 2 PM against Appalachian FC. Moving to a conference familiar to local sports fans, the Otters have signed nine players from the Southern Conference, athletic home of the ETSU Buccaneers. The group is comprised of six players who have suited up for ETSU in the past and present and three from SoCon Champion UNCG, and cover all levels of the formation. The Otters 2020 USL League Two season was unfortunately cancelled before it even got started, meaning the 2020 roster never got to suit up in the blue and green and represent Johnson City. However, over half of that group will return in 2021 to finally get their chance. The first-ever Otter Soccer Golf Tournament is in the books! Last Saturday, over 50 golfers came out to Pine Oaks Golf Course in Johnson City to help raise money for youth soccer opportunities in our area. The Otters are excited to announce an ongoing partnership with the TOPSoccer program in Johnson City. TOPSoccer works to provide soccer opportunities to special needs athletes in the region at no cost. The Otters players will serve as “buddies” during the summer to help ensure safety, fun, and support! In 2021, the program will be on Sundays from May to June at Science Hill High School.
