Four Signed From Across Division II Ranks

Yesterday’s group included the Division II players set to return to the Otters for the 2021 season. This group comes from the same level, ready to make their Otters debut. The Otters have long tapped into the talent at the Division II level, with nearly all major Otters records being held by players with Division II experience. We are five days away from the Otters first match of the season, when they travel to Boone, North Carolina for the first of two exhibition matches against NPSL-side Appalachian FC. Danny Talisuna, D, Florida Tech

Another Florida Tech Panther to join the Otters, Talisuna will bring talent on both sides of the ball to the fullback position. Originally from Uganda, Talisuna is entering his senior season at Florida Tech. In 2019, Talisuna played almost 600 minutes for the Panthers, putting three of his four shots on goal. The physical left back brings relentless pressure going forward and helped the Panthers make a run to the Sweet Sixteen and a 12–4–1 overall record.

Benjamin Grelet-Constantini, MF, Ohio Valley

Benjamin Grelet-Constantini joins a long line of Ohio Valley Fighting Scots to play for the Otters. Both the Otters record holders for career assists (Alex Horveno) and goals (Guillermo Segovia) came from Ohio Valley. As a freshman in 2019, the Frenchman appeared in all 21 matches, and tallied four assists. This spring Constantini started every match, and finished with two goals and three assists as the Fighting Scots finished with an undefeated season and ranked third in all of Division II.

Vinzent Zingel, MF/F, CSU Pueblo

Another player to join the Otters from the West is versatile attacker Vinzent Zingel. Originally from Aachen, Germany, Zingel got his college career off to a blazing start in 2019 with the Thunderwolves, starting every match and bagging nine goals and adding two assists. Zingel led the team in goals, points, shots, and shots on goal as a freshman. He was named the RMAC Freshman of the Year and to the All-South Central Region First Team by the D2CCA. Zingel picked up where he left off this spring tying for the team lead in goals with five, and leading CSU Pueblo in assists (5), points (15), shots (23), and shots on goal (15). Zingel was named the RMAC Player of the Year and to the RMAC First-Team.

Lars Brinkman, F, University of Illinois-Springfield

The final signing of this group comes to the Otters from the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Originally playing in the amateur levels of the Netherlands, Brinkman began his college career this spring with the Prairie Stars. In eleven games, the 6'4" forward tied for the team lead in goals and led the team in shots (26) and shots on goal (14) and was the only player to record more than ten shots on goal.
