Otters 2021 League Schedule Released
The Otters 14-game schedule for the 2021 USL League Two schedule has been released today. Building off the success of the 2019 summer campaign, the Otters will look to launch the next era of the franchise in a new home at TVA Credit Union Ballpark in downtown Johnson City. Season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased on HappsNow!
For the second-straight season, the Otters will compete in the Southern Conference in the South Atlantic Division. The division consists of eight teams, playing a home and away contest against each. The division opponents remain the same as 2019, plus the addition of West Virginia United (formerly the West Virginia Chaos) from the Central Conference. The teams are the aforementioned West Virginia United, Virginia Beach United, Lionsbridge FC, Wake FC, the North Carolina FC U-23s, Tobacco Road FC, and the North Carolina Fusion U-23s.
The Otters will begin their season in familiar fashion on the road. They will open their season where their last league game was played, nearly 600 days ago, in Durham, NC against Tobacco Road FC.
May will see the Otters stay on the road, facing the North Carolina Fusion U-23s on May 18th, West Virginia United May 22nd, and the NCFC U-23s in Cary, NC on May 26th.
June will begin with a string of Otters home games at TVA Credit Union Ballpark. The Otters will open their home slate against Lionsbridge FC for the second season in a row, on Friday, June 4th at 7:00 PM. In 2019, the Otters emerged victorious 3–2 on a late Taylor Gray header.
The Otters will continue the home stand on Sunday, June 6th against Virginia Beach United and Wednesday, June 9th when West Virginia United come to town.
On June 15th the Otters will travel to North Carolina to face Wake FC before returning home Saturday, June 19th to square off against Tobacco Road FC.
Following another home contest against the North Carolina Fusion U-23s Wednesday, June 23rd, the Otters will hit the road for a pair of matches in Virginia, facing Virginia Beach United on June 25th and Lionsbridge FC June 27th.
The Otters will finish out the league schedule at home and make their push to the playoffs in the friendly confines of TVA Credit Union Ballpark. They will first face the NCFC U-23s on Wednesday, June 30th, before taking on Wake FC, Saturday, July 10th to close out their schedule.
