Otters Get Fit With Summer Workout Program
Looking for a new healthy otter-native for your summer? The Otters have developed a new summer workout plan that the whole family can enjoy! Beginning Monday, June 22nd the Otters will be posting a new set of workouts for the week with the goal of getting up and getting active! The completed worksheet can be redeemed for a prize at the OTTERUN 5K (July 25th) or exhibition match (July 28th).
The fitness plan was developed by the Otters Community Relations Director Taran Linder. She says: “I want to help people live healthier lifestyles and what better way to make a change than with your family. When everyone is working toward the same goals it’s easier to stay motivated.”
The first two weeks will focus on reps of very simple exercises you can do in the house, in the yard, at the beach, or wherever you are! It also requires no equipment. Linder says that you should feel free to modify the number of reps to what you can do.
Week three and four will be the Otter Squatter and all you need is a deck of cards! Using the key above you will draw a designated number of cards each day and do the exercise depending on the suit and the number of reps on the card.
The final week will be an alphabet exercise and the words for each day will be posted on our social media pages! Spell the word and then you’re done!
Be sure to keep track of your exercises over the next five weeks and bring your completed sheet to the 5K or exhibition match to redeem a prize! You can download the worksheet here.
The Otters want to see you and your family doing your workouts together so use the hashtag #ActiveOtters on social media to have your post shared!
