Otters Partner with Johnson City TOPSoccer Program
The Otters are excited to announce an ongoing partnership with the TOPSoccer program in Johnson City. TOPSoccer works to provide soccer opportunities to special needs athletes in the region at no cost. The Otters players will serve as “buddies” during the summer to help ensure safety, fun, and support! In 2021, the program will be on Sundays from May to June at Science Hill High School. Registration is now open and can be done here or on the JCFC website!
“We are over the moon excited to be a partner with TOPSoccer in East Tennessee to be able to serve our local families with the opportunity for a fun and meaningful experience,” says David Strickland on the partnership. “To share the game we all love so much with an athlete so they can experience joy and happiness on the pitch will be an amazing opportunity for the Otters!”
The program is open to all athletes with special needs and the cost is absolutely FREE! The Sunday dates for the spring season are May 16th, 23rd, and 30th and June 6th, 13th, and 20th and will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 on the football field at Science Hill High School.
Otters players will serve as buddies to the players assisting each session in making sure that every athlete has an enjoyable experience out on the field. If you would like to volunteer as a buddy please e-mail info@johnsoncityfc.com for more information.
The registration deadline is May 8th and can be done here or under “Programs” on the JCFC website. Please contact program director Ron Kind at ronkind5@gmail.com with any questions!
The Otters will return to the field on May 9th in their game in nearly two years when they face Appalachian FC in an exhibition match. Tickets for that match and the season are now on sale on HappsNow!
